The treatment of post-infarction ventricular tachycardias with antiarrhythmic drug therapy, implantable automatic defibrillators, radiofrequency ablation, also includes different surgical procedures such as endocardial resection of the infarct scar, encircling endocardial ventriculotomy and endocardial cryoablation or thermoexclusion by laser. These procedures may be extensive or limited, guided or not by preoperative mapping. The aim of this review of the literature is to update our knowledge of these different surgical techniques and to define their indications.

These 5 pregnancies gave rise to 4 live births. Vaginal delivery occurred at a mean of 38 +/- 1 weeks of amenorrhea (range, 37-39 weeks) and the mean birth weight was 3,143 +/- 757 grams (range, 2,270-3,990 grams).

View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjective: Bronchopleural fistula after pneumonectomy is a very serious complication, occurring in 1-4% of cases, regardless of the bronchial stump closure technique adopted. The objective of this study was to report a bronchial stump closure technique in pneumonectomy by manual suture (polypropylene running suture) and to study the incidence of bronchopleural fistula.
Methods: Between January 1988 and December 1997, 209 patients (186 men and 23 women, mean age = 60.
