Objectives: To report the results of an international patient-reported survey that adds to the growing body of evidence surrounding the role of surgery in the management of a subset of patients with non-hydrocephalic symptomatic pineal cyst.
Design: An international web-based survey of health outcomes in patients with nhSPC.
Subjects: All survey participants who self-reported a diagnosis of symptomatic pineal cyst without hydrocephalus after radiological imaging.
In utero exposure to gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is associated with adverse long-term outcomes. Little is known about how mothers perceive these outcomes and the support they need for optimal outcomes for their children. We aimed to explore how women perceive the risk of adverse outcomes for their children exposed to GDM and the support they require for their optimal health.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPurpose: We compare the treatment and outcomes of penetrating and blunt splenic trauma at Major Trauma Centres (MTC) within the UK.
Methods: Data obtained from the national Trauma Audit Research Network database identified all eligible splenic injuries admitted to MTC within England between 01/01/17-31/12/21. Demographics, mechanism of injury, splenic injury classification, associated injuries, treatment, and outcomes were compared.
Objectives: The thoracic branch endoprosthesis (TBE®, WL Gore, Flagstaff AZ) offers an off-the-shelf single option for thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) of aortic arch pathology with sealing in zones 0-2. This study reports the early outcomes of TBE®-TEVAR for acute indications.
Methods: Clinical data, imaging, and outcomes of patients treated with TBE®-TEVAR at seven institutions were retrospectively reviewed (March 2017- March 2024).
