[Spanish version of the Functional Outcomes of Sleep Questionnaire: scores of healthy individuals and of patients with sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome].

Objective: The main symptom of sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (SAHS) is excessive daytime sleepiness. The self-administered Functional Outcomes of Sleep Questionnaire (FOSQ) was designed to evaluate the impact of sleepiness on a patient's daily life. The aim of this study was to determine the scores of patients with SAHS and of healthy individuals on the Spanish version of the FOSQ and to assess its usefulness for evaluating the impact of excessive sleepiness in patients with suspected SAHS.

[Tuberculous infection in nursing students: prevalence and conversion during a 3-year follow-up].

Background: The aim of this study was to ascertain the positive tuberculin prevalence among the nursing students at the beginning of their studies; to assess the annual tuberculin conversion rate during their studies; to obviate the possibility of false conversions, studying the booster effect.

Patients And Methods: Cohort study, prospective, 3 groups not parallels (n = 316), 32 months follow-up in all students. Mean age 21 years (SD = 4; range = 17-39).

Efficacy and safety of photodynamic therapy versus Nd-YAG laser resection in NSCLC with airway obstruction.

A prospective controlled randomized trial was performed in order to assess the effectiveness and safety of photodynamic therapy versus laser resection in 31 patients with partial or complete tracheobronchial obstruction due to inoperable non-small cell lung cancer. Fourteen patients received dihaematoporphyrin ether and argon dye laser photoradiation, and 17 patients received Nd-YAG laser resection. Endoluminal obstruction of >75% was found in 77.
