Assessing the accuracy of a multisection robotic bronchoscope prototype in localization and targeting of small pulmonary lesions.

Objectives: Robotic bronchoscopy (RB) has emerged as a novel technique to address issues with the biopsy of small peripheral lung lesions. The objective of this study was to quantitatively assess the accuracy of a novel multisection robotic bronchoscope compared with current standards of care.

Methods: This is a prospective, single-blind, comparative study where the accuracy of a multisection RB was compared against the accuracy of standard electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy (EM-NB) during lesion localization and targeting.

Hearing ability of prairie voles (Microtus ochrogaster).

The hearing abilities of mammals are impacted by factors such as social cues, habitat, and physical characteristics. Despite being used commonly to study social behaviors, hearing of the monogamous prairie vole (Microtus ochrogaster) has never been characterized. In this study, anatomical features are measured and auditory brainstem responses (ABRs) are used to measure auditory capabilities of prairie voles, characterizing monaural and binaural hearing and hearing range.

Management of partial-thickness rotator cuff tears with autologous adipose-derived regenerative cells is safe and more effective than injection of corticosteroid.

Symptomatic, partial-thickness rotator cuff tears (sPTRCT) are problematic. This study tested the hypothesis that management of sPTRCT with injection of fresh, uncultured, unmodified, autologous, adipose-derived regenerative cells (UA-ADRCs) is safe and more effective than injection of corticosteroid even in the long run. To this end, subjects who had completed a former randomized controlled trial were enrolled in the present study.
