Adult survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ASALL) compose a specific group that faces an increased risk of experiencing late effects of their earlier treatment. Physical activity (PA) may be one of the appropriate means for preventing or minimizing the late effects of treatment. The main purpose of this study is to characterize device-measured PA and sedentary behavior (SB) among ASALL.

Three issues are critical for successful cryopreservation of multicellular material: gases dissolved in liquid, thermal conductivity of the tissue, and localization of microstructures. Here we show that heat distribution is controlled by the gas amount dissolved in liquids and that when changing the liquid into solid, the dissolved gases either form bubbles due to the absence of space in the lattice of solids and/or are migrated toward the concentrated salt and sugar solution at the cost of amount of heat required to be removed to complete a solid-state transition. These factors affect the heat distribution in the organs to be cryopreserved.

The present communication deals with knowledge gained at detecting episodes of silent myocardial ischaemia in a group of diabetics with a positive load ECG test. With the recent advance of new examination methods it becomes evident that the asymptomatic transitional defects of perfusion or myocardial function in patients with ischaemic heart disease are apparently the most frequent ischaemic accidents which the patient experiences during his or her usual daily activity. They are not caused by increased demands on oxygen supply by the myocardium, rather it is the case of decreased oxygen supply due to dynamic changes in arterial blood supply of the myocardium during transient arterial vasoconstriction.
