Methamphetamine (meth) use disorder is part of an overarching use disorder that encompasses continued drug seeking and an increased risk of returning to drug use following periods of abstaining. Chronic meth use results in drug-induced cortical plasticity in the perirhinal cortex (PRC) that mediates responses to novelty. PRH projection targets are numerous and include the nucleus accumbens core (NAc).

Human papillomavirus (HPV) integration has been implicated in transforming HPV infection into cancer. To resolve genome dysregulation associated with HPV integration, we performed Oxford Nanopore long-read sequencing on 72 cervical cancer genomes from an Ugandan dataset that was previously characterized using short-read sequencing. We found recurrent structural rearrangement patterns at HPV integration events, which we categorized as: del(etion)-like, dup(lication)-like, translocation, multibreakpoint, or repeat region integrations.

Achieving the sexual health components of sexual and reproductive health and rights as outlined in the sustainable development goals (SDGs) is integral to overall physical and mental well-being and a core part of universal health coverage. However, tracking national and global progress towards advancing the sexual health and rights of people is challenging because of the paucity of indicators to examine many of its components. To assess the state of sexual health in populations, determine service provision needs, evaluate the effectiveness of health system interventions and monitor progress in optimizing health, a comprehensive set of indicators is needed to cover every component of sexual health.

Objectives: AmpC β-lactamases are neglected compared with ESBL as a cause of third-generation cephalosporin (3GC) resistance in Enterobacterales in low- and middle-income countries and the burden is unknown. The aim of this study was to investigate the presence of AmpC β-lactamase-producing and in clinical specimens from three clinical research laboratories in Southeast Asia.

Methods: Stored clinical isolates of and resistant to ceftriaxone or ceftazidime or cefpodoxime and ESBL confirmation test negative were screened using MASTDISCS AmpC, ESBL and Carbapenemase Detection Set-D72C.

The partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) is a scaffold protein linking BRCA1 with BRCA2 and RAD51 during homologous recombination (HR). PALB2 interaction with DNA strongly enhances HR in cells, while the PALB2 DNA-binding domain (PALB2-DBD) supports DNA strand exchange . We determined that PALB2-DBD is intrinsically disordered beyond a single N-terminal α-helix.
