Tracing the transmission of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales at the patient: ward environmental nexus.

Introduction: Colonisation and infection with Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) in healthcare settings poses significant risks, especially for vulnerable patients. Genomic analysis can be used to trace transmission routes, supporting antimicrobial stewardship and informing infection control strategies. Here we used genomic analysis to track the movement and transmission of CREs within clinical and environmental samples.

Sudden onset presentation of giant primary thyroid hemangioma: a rare case report.

Hemangiomas are considered slow growing benign neoplasms. Primary thyroid hemangiomas are uncommon and may pose difficulty in diagnosis due to absence of distinctive imaging characteristics and related clinical symptoms. It is crucial to precisely identify these lesions to aid in implementing nonsurgical treatment plans rather than resorting to surgical procedures in certain cases.

Factors influencing quality of life in children with tracheostomy with emphasis on home care visits: a multi-centre investigation.

Objective: Only a few studies have assessed the quality of life in children with tracheostomies. This study aimed to evaluate the quality of life and the factors influencing it in these children.

Method: This cross-sectional, two-centre study was conducted on paediatric patients living in the community with a tracheostomy by using the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory.

Intraparotid Recurrence of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma After Thyroidectomy Coincident With Declining Thyroglobulin Levels: A Case Report and Review of the Literature.

Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most frequent thyroid malignancy. Intraparotid recurrence of PTC is, however, rare. Most parotid malignancies are either primary or metastatic from cancer outside the head and neck.

Thyroid neoplasm in Makkah region, Saudi Arabia. A retrospective epidemiological study.

To improve our local data and demographics of thyroid neoplasm in Makkah region, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and provide some basic statistics for future studies in our local community.  Methods: A record based retrospective epidemiological study was conducted and included 314 thyroid disease patients who were presented to our centers at Makkah region, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia between December 2009 and December 2019. Results: A descriptive statistical analysis was carried out.
