Comparision of interleukin-1β concentrations in posttreatment endodontic disease and other pulpal and periapical conditions - A clinical study.

Aim: To evaluate interleukin (IL)-1β concentrations in periapical tissue fluid (PTF) in persistent apical periodontitis requiring endodontic retreatment and to compare the levels of IL-1β with chronic apical periodontitis, symptomatic irreversible pulpitis (SIP), normal pulpal, and periapical tissues.

Materials And Methods: The patients were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and divided into 4 groups based on the pulpal and periapical status: Posttreatment endodontic diseases (PTED): Teeth with PTED due to failed primary root canal treatment having periapical radiolucency. PNAP: Teeth requiring root canal treatment due to pulpal necrosis having periapical radiolucency.

Endodontic management of pulp canal obliteration using a new single-tooth template: A case series.

Background: Guided Endodontics is suggested as a reliable method for management of teeth with pulp canal obliteration (PCO). The guide used for this usually involves multiple teeth to gain stability but is bulky. It is therefore suboptimal to be used along with rubber dam.

Effect of preoperative oral administration of steroids in comparison to an anti-inflammatory drug on postoperative pain following single-visit root canal treatment - a double-blind, randomized clinical trial.

Aim: This randomized, double-blinded, clinical trial evaluated the effect of oral premedication of piroxicam, prednisolone, dexamethasone or placebo on postoperative pain after single-visit root canal treatment in teeth with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis and symptomatic apical periodontitis.

Methodology: The trial is reported according to the Preferred Reporting Items for RAndomized Trials in Endodontics (PRIRATE) 2020 guidelines. The protocol was registered at the clinical trial registry (India) (CTRI/2019/06/019818).

Management of short clinical crowns by utilizing horizontal groove retentive technique in crown/tooth or both with different luting cements - An analysis on extracted teeth.

Purpose: The aim of the present study was to compare and evaluate the retention of dislodged crowns by addition of one horizontal circumferential groove (HCG) to preparation and/or casting and with two luting cements.

Materials And Methods: A total of 80 recently extracted human maxillary first molar teeth of appropriate sizes were collected and mounted in the resin blocks using surveyor. Standardized full coverage tooth preparations were prepared and impressions were obtained.

Evaluation of esthetics of incisor position in relation to incisive papilla to replicate in the denture prosthesis.

Background: The distance between the central incisor to incisive papilla (CI-IP) is constant and regarded as one of the landmarks for the placement of artificial teeth in the prosthesis. Earlier studies were done in relation to anterior border of papilla but after extraction the incisive papilla recedes changing the position of anterior border.
