An essential aspect of positive-sense RNA virus replication is anchoring the replication complex (RC) to cellular membranes. Positive-sense RNA viruses employ diverse strategies, including co-translational membrane targeting through signal peptides and co-opting cellular membrane trafficking components. Often, N-terminal nonstructural proteins play a crucial role in linking the RC to membranes, facilitating the early association of the replication machinery.

Article Synopsis
  • Osteoarthritis is a major public health issue, and this study aims to identify key genes linked to the disease using a new chromosome analysis technique (Hi-C).
  • Researchers analyzed chondrocytes from patients with knee osteoarthritis to uncover long-range genetic interactions and variants that may regulate gene activity.
  • The study found 345 genetic variants associated with osteoarthritis, identifying two new candidate effector genes and highlighting the role of a gene (PAPPA) related to the repair of damaged cartilage.

We aim to review the surgical management techniques available for patients with oculomotor nerve (OMN) palsy, compare and contrast the approaches and subsequent outcomes. A search of the literature was carried out to yield all papers relevant to the topic, and a wide spectrum of surgical techniques were identified. These included: muscle shortening and lengthening procedures, muscle transposition, globe fixation and ptosis surgery.

Functional enrichment analysis of genome-wide association study (GWAS)-summary statistics has suggested that CD4 T-cells play an important role in asthma pathogenesis. Despite this, CD4 T-cells are under-represented in asthma transcriptome studies. To fill the gap, 3'-RNA-Seq was used to generate gene expression data on CD4 T-cells (isolated within 2 h from collection) from peripheral blood from participants with well-controlled asthma (n = 32) and healthy controls (n = 11).
