Article Synopsis
  • The study examines retinal detachment demarcation lines using infrared imaging and analyzes the progression of retinal detachment post-surgery.
  • Researchers conducted a retrospective case series involving 25 eyes from 24 patients who had rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) repair and observed postoperative demarcation lines.
  • Findings indicate that these demarcation lines, which appear early after surgery, fade over approximately 2.6 months, and suggest that superior RRDs progress more than inferior ones, with the use of perfluorocarbon during surgery linked to reduced progression.
