Women are at increased risk of trauma exposure and of experiencing prolonged posttraumatic stress. Maternal trauma exposure and associated impairment may adversely impact mother-infant interaction quality, which may in turn be associated with infant temperament difficulties. More research is needed to identify which maternal trauma predictors are most robustly related to infant temperament outcomes.

This article outlines the experience of the Arnprior Region & Ottawa West (AROW) Health Link using a multi-dimensional engagement framework in the co-development of systems change with client representatives. The article outlines patient, organizational, and societal factors influencing client engagement. The key learning that has allowed the joint Client Engagement Committee to evolve has been the core of client leadership.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjective: To report on the delivery of evidence-based smoking cessation treatments (EBSCTs) within a sample of 40 Ontario family health teams (FHTs).
Design: In each FHT, consecutive patients were screened for smoking status and eligible patients completed a questionnaire immediately following their clinic visits (index visits). Multilevel analysis was used to examine FHT-level, provider-level, and patient-level predictors of EBSCT delivery.
Background: Primary nonfunction (PNF) is a devastating outcome after kidney transplantation and is more common with kidneys from donors without a heartbeat or expanded criteria donors, or both. We investigated recipient-based risk factors for PNF independent of organ donor source.
Methods: We used a case-control study design and matched for the source of organ and year of transplantation; for each recipient with PNF, two recipients without PNF (controls) were randomly selected.
Objective: To describe the integration of a clinic pharmacy with a patient-centered medical home (PCMH).
Setting: Primary care clinic in Monroe, WA, from 1981 to January 2011.
Practice Description: Pharmacists and physicians with a previous working relationship in a family practice residency program established colocated practices in 1981.
