[Drug treatment for the treatment of primary osteoporosis].

The goal of drug treatment of osteoporosis is to prevent fractures. Increase of bone density during therapy is not consistently associated with a clinical benefit. The purpose of this paper is to review the evidence of fracture prevention from published randomized controlled trials.
