Background: Recent therapeutic and technological solutions aim to improve the daily living of people with limb amputation by considering various aspects of the phantom limb, in particular painless phantom sensations (PS) and voluntary phantom movements (VPM).
Objective: Although previous research has explored these phenomena mostly without considering the prosthesis, this study investigates the influence of prosthesis wearing on painless PS, painful PS, and VPM, in people with lower-limb amputation.
Study Design: Cross-sectional study based on semi-directed interviews.
Background: Forcibly displaced women in the Netherlands face increased chances of perinatal mortality and other adverse pregnancy and childbirth outcomes compared to the resident country population, which has been linked to suboptimal care. This study was conducted to gain insights from the experiences of Dutch midwives to inform and enhance the provision of tailored and equitable care for forcibly displaced women.
Methods: We conducted a qualitative study using semistructured interviews with community midwives who provide care for forcibly displaced women (asylum seekers and recognized refugees) in the Netherlands.
This work presents two circuit-based solutions to enhance the power handling capabilities of waveguide-integrated uni-travelling carrier photodetectors (WG-UTC-PDs). Compared to a baseline WG-UTC-PD, these solutions achieve a fivefold increase in photocurrent before thermal breakdown. First, dual-injection improves the optical power distribution within a baseline WG-UTC-PD, raising the photocurrent threshold before thermal breakdown.

Objective: To compare the content and several psychometric properties of the Restriction and Satisfaction subscales of the Utrecht Scale for Evaluation of Rehabilitation - Participation (USER-P) with the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System Ability to Participate in Social Roles and Activities (PROMIS-APS) and Satisfaction with Social Roles and Activities (PROMIS-SPS) v2.0 8-item short forms.
Background: The rise of global forced migration urges healthcare systems to respond to the needs of forced migrants (FM) during pregnancy and childbirth. Yet, comprehensive data on the health outcomes of pregnant FM in destination countries remain scarce. This study aimed to describe the characteristics and maternal and perinatal outcomes of pregnancy in this specific migrant population on a national scale in the Netherlands and to explore differences from other populations.
