Introduction: Children with developmental language disorder (DLD) start learning foreign languages, usually English as a foreign language (EFL), at an increasingly young age. However, current scholarship lacks crucial insights into how children with DLD respond to language learning in classroom settings and how they can be supported in doing so. The purpose of this early efficacy study is to determine whether a business-as-usual curriculum or a new teaching method tailored to the specific needs of pupils with DLD results in (greater) progress in the foreign language (English) and in the school language (Dutch).

Objectives: Under-diagnosis and suboptimal asthma control in children persists. An innovative care pathway was developed by a hospital department of pediatrics with the aim to detect pulmonary problems in children and provide appropriate treatment possibilities through systematic feedback towards the referring primary care physician. Primary care physicians can use this pathway to refer children with asthma-like symptoms for a one-day assessment.

This double-blind, randomized, multi-center study compared the metabolic tolerance of a combined formulation containing estradiol (E2) and trimegestone (TMG) with a standard hormone replacement therapy (HRT) containing estradiol valerate (EV) and norgestrel (NG). Blood lipids, glucose and fibrinogen concentrations were measured in the study which was conducted over 13 cycles, each of 28 days, and included 634 subjects in two randomized groups. A total of 481 subjects completed the study.

The study was conducted over 13 cycles, each of 28 days, and involved 634 subjects, of whom 481 completed the study.

The efficacy of treatment in fetuses in whom congenital Toxoplasma gondii infection has ben established has been investigated using rhesus monkeys as a model for humans. A polymerase chain reaction has been developed for the detection of Toxoplasma gondii. Using this polymerase chain reaction congenital infection can be established within 2 days of receiving an amniotic fluid sample.
