Nurse-Family Partnership nurses' attitudes and confidence in identifying and responding to intimate partner violence: An explanatory sequential mixed methods evaluation.

Aims: To evaluate the effect of an intimate partner violence intervention education component on nurses' attitudes in addressing intimate partner violence; complementary aims included understanding nurses' perceptions of the education and how it influenced their attitudes and confidence to address intimate partner violence in practice.

Design: An explanatory sequential mixed methods design embedded within a 15-site cluster randomized clinical trial that evaluated an intimate partner violence intervention within the Nurse-Family Partnership programme.

Methods: Data were collected between February 2011 and September 2016.

Effect of Addition of an Intimate Partner Violence Intervention to a Nurse Home Visitation Program on Maternal Quality of Life: A Randomized Clinical Trial.

Importance: Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a public health problem with significant adverse consequences for women and children. Past evaluations of a nurse home visitation program for pregnant women and first-time mothers experiencing social and economic disadvantage have not consistently shown reductions in IPV.

Objective: To determine the effect on maternal quality of life of a nurse home visitation program augmented by an IPV intervention, compared with the nurse home visitation program alone.

Continuous intracameral phenylephrine-ketorolac irrigation for miosis prevention in femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery: Reduction in surgical time and iris manipulation.

Purpose: To determine whether the addition of phenylephrine 1.0%-ketorolac 0.3% (Omidria) to the irrigation solution during femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS) reduces surgical time and the need for pupil expansion devices compared with the irrigation solution containing epinephrine.

An Electronic Health Record Data-driven Model for Identifying Older Adults at Risk of Unintentional Falls.

Screening for risk of unintentional falls remains low in the primary care setting because of the time constraints of brief office visits. National studies suggest that physicians caring for older adults provide recommended fall risk screening only 30 to 37 percent of the time. Given prior success in developing methods for repurposing electronic health record data for the identification of fall risk, this study involves building a model in which electronic health record data could be applied for use in clinical decision support to bolster screening by proactively identifying patients for whom screening would be beneficial and targeting efforts specifically to those patients.

Epidemiology of Muay Thai fight-related injuries.

Background: Muay Thai is a combat sport of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. Currently, little is known about the injuries and risk factors for injuries among Muay Thai fighters. Gaining more insight into the nature and frequency of injury in this sport provides part of the overall sports injury picture, within the larger burden of injury as a public health issue.
