Unlabelled: A case is presented of extensive pneumomastia seen on a screening mammogram of an asymptomatic patient who had helium plasma treatment 2 weeks earlier for flabby upper arms.

Contribution: Rare complications of subcutaneous emphysema, following helium plasma treatment, have been discussed to highlight that such emphysema is usually self-limiting.

Article Synopsis
  • Biological age is a better indicator of health than chronological age and can be estimated using blood-based biomarkers; this study focuses on improving this estimation with machine learning.
  • Using data from over 306,000 participants, researchers developed an Elastic-Net Cox model that predicts mortality risk, achieving a higher predictive accuracy than a popular existing model (PhenoAge).
  • The study concludes that a practical method for estimating biological age, which can vary significantly from chronological age, is feasible and can be made accessible to the general public through common clinical assays.

Dietary trimethylamines, such as choline, metabolized by intestinal microbiota to trimethylamine are absorbed by the gut and oxidized to trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO). The objective of this study was to determine the effect of choline supplementation on atherosclerosis progression in mice expressing human cholesterol ester transfer protein (hCETP) using the same diets as in previously reported studies. Mice expressing hCETP, after transfection with AAV2/8-hCETP, were fed an 18% protein diet with either 0.

Factors that influence the risk of neurocognitive decline and Alzheimer's disease (AD) may provide insight into therapies for both disease treatment and prevention. Although age is the most striking risk factor for AD, it is notable that the prevalence of AD is higher in women, representing two-thirds of cases. To explore potential underlying biological underpinnings of this observation, the intent of this article is to explore the interplay between cognitive aging and sex hormones, the cholinergic system, and novel hypotheses related to the essential nutrient choline.

Purpose: To determine whether reconstruction of lower eyelid defects involving the eyelid margin with a free tarsal graft and an overlying free skin graft, without retention or provision of any vascular support, would yield acceptable functional and cosmetic results.

Methods: We present here a clinical series of 4 patients treated between April 2019 and September 2019 who underwent reconstruction of large postcarcinoma excision, eyelid-margin-inclusive eyelid defects. Surgery was performed by the same surgeon (J.
