Background: Imaging both electrical and mechanical cardiac function can better characterize cardiac disease and improve patient care. Currently, there is no noninvasive technique that can simultaneously image both electrical and mechanical function of the whole heart at the point of care. Here, our aim is to demonstrate that high volume-rate echocardiography can simultaneously map cardiac electromechanical activation and end-systolic cardiac strain of the whole heart in a single heartbeat.

These RNA orchestrate several layers of regulation to achieve genetic control. Although Escherichia coli riboswitches modulate translation initiation, several cases have been reported where riboswitches also modulate mRNA levels.

Background: Chronic Exertional Compartment Syndrome (CECS) of the forearm is characterized by an increase of the pressure in the forearm compartments during repeated activities. Its diagnosis is challenging because of the lack of clearly established diagnostic criteria.
Purpose: We aimed to provide a comprehensive description of the diagnostic methods used for CECS of the forearm, to assess if a more effective diagnosis strategy could be identified.
Intestinal parasites, including helminths and protozoa, account for a significant portion of the global health burden. The gastrointestinal (GI) tract not only serves as the stage for these parasitic infections but also as the residence for millions of microbes. As the intricacies of the GI microbial milieu continue to unfold, it is becoming increasingly apparent that the interactions between host, parasite, and resident microbes help dictate parasite survival and, ultimately, disease outcomes.

While sRNAs and riboswitches regulate gene expression by affecting mRNA and protein levels, existing studies have been limited to the characterization of each regulatory system in isolation, suggesting that sRNAs and riboswitches target distinct mRNA populations. We report that the expression of btuB in Escherichia coli, which is regulated by an adenosylcobalamin (AdoCbl) riboswitch, is also controlled by the small RNAs OmrA and, to a lesser extent, OmrB.
