View Article and Find Full Text PDFAs part of the Evaluation of Professional Practices (EPP) framework, a study has been conducted in a local hospital in western France on the prescription of urine cultures and treatment of urinary tract infections, A clinical audit was carried out in 2007 followed up by corrective measures. The actions and measures implemented as a result consisted in establishing and implementing a protocol "UTI" for managing urinary tract infections, creating a tool to assist clinicians in the diagnosis and prescription process, and raising awareness of health care professionals through quiz. The results of this work were reevaluated one year later.
