Method And Materials: In 4 years, a multidisciplinary breath odor clinic in Belgium examined 406 patients. The team consisted of an ear, nose, and throat specialist, a periodontologist, occasionally a specialist in internal medicine, and, more recently, a psychiatrist.

The long-term success of Brånemark implants has been previously reported. The success rate of the same implants, when associated with autologous grafts, seemed much less predictable. In the present study it is demonstrated that when these implants are installed in conjunction with an autologous corticocancellous hip graft, either onlay or inlay, the cumulative success rate remains at 95% for individual implants in non-smokers.

Oral malodour is a frequent problem, which can benefit from a multidisciplinary approach (periodontology, ENT, internal medicine, psychiatry). An objective measurement of the amount of volatile sulphur compounds in the patient is very useful and easy to perform.

The overall aim of this study was to examine the relationship between bone mass of the jaw and the axial skeleton. Sixty-nine subjects (age at entry: 32-64), who underwent hormone replacement therapy during the study period, participated. Bone mass of the lumbar spine was determined using dual photon absorptiometry.
