The need to find alternative materials to replace aqueous amine solutions for the capture of CO in post-combustion technologies is pressing. This study assesses the CO sorption capacity and CO/N selectivity of three dicationic ionic liquids with distinct anions immobilized in commercial mesoporous silica support (SBA- 15). The samples were characterized by UART-FTIR, NMR, Raman, FESEM, TEM, TGA, Magnetometry (VSM), BET and BJH.

Core-shell magnetic air-stable nanoparticles have attracted increasing interest in recent years. Attaining a satisfactory distribution of magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) in polymeric matrices is difficult due to magnetically induced aggregation, and supporting the MNPs on a nonmagnetic core-shell is a well-established strategy. In order to obtain magnetically active polypropylene (PP) nanocomposites by melt mixing, the thermal reduction of graphene oxides (TrGO) at two different temperatures (600 and 1000 °C) was carried out, and, subsequently, metallic nanoparticles (Co or Ni) were dispersed on them.

The mechanochemical synthesis of all cobalt tellurides' phases is demonstrated in this work. The samples had their structural, microstructural, and magnetic characterizations performed by X-ray powder diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and magnetometry techniques. The initial atomic stoichiometries tested of CoTe and CoTe resulted in the synthesis of the γ-CoTe (marcasite), α-CoTe 3̄ (pyrite), α-CoTe 3̄1 (CdI-like), and β-CoTe 6/ phases with different weight proportions in the sample.

A study addressed to develop new recyclable and/or biodegradable magnetic polymeric materials is reported. The selected matrices were polypropylene (PP) and poly (lactic acid) (PLA). As known, PP corresponds to a non-polar homo-chain polymer and a commodity, while PLA is a biodegradable polar hetero-chain polymer.

Exchange bias properties of MnFe[Formula: see text]O[Formula: see text]@[Formula: see text]-Fe[Formula: see text]O[Formula: see text] core-shell nanoparticles are investigated. The measured field and temperature dependencies of the magnetization point out a well-ordered ferrimagnetic core surrounded by a layer with spin glass-like arrangement. Quasi-static SQUID magnetization measurements are presented along with high-amplitude pulse ones and are cross-analyzed by comparison against ferromagnetic resonance experiments at 9 GHz.
