[Analysis of ultrasonic scans and karyotype of fetuses with holoprosencephaly diagnosed in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology of the Postgraduate Center of Medical Education between 1997 & 2005].

Objectives: The aim of our study was to determine the risk of aneuploidy and associated malformations in fetuses with holoprosencephaly. We have also analyzed the gestational age during the first examination.

Design: We have studied ultrasound reports of fetuses with holoprosencephaly.

[Ovarian endometrial cysts--management and treatment].

The authors estimated the effects of combined operative and hormonal therapy in 23 women suffering from ovarian endometrial cysts. In the therapy the authors used Danazol. The authors concluded that removal of an ovarian endometrial cyst combined with 6-th month Danazol therapy prevents recurrence of endometriosis and in some women restores fertility.

[Mortality of fetuses and newborns in gestosis EPH].

The authors analysed perinatal mortality and the condition of 32 newborns of 30 pregnant women with a severe form of gestosis EPH, who did not react to therapy. In all the women the pregnancy was terminated prematurely between 29th and 37th week (not later than 7 days admission to hospital) because of threat to the fetus, threat to the pregnant woman due to renal failure or threat both to the fetus and the woman. In spite of the fact that the newborns had a lower birth weight in comparison with newborns born in the previous years, the above procedure led to the sixfold reduction of perinatal mortality.
