We highlight camphene-camphor-polypropylene plastic as a useful material for self-propelled objects that show aggregation while floating on a water surface. We consider self-propelled rods as an example of aggregation of objects characterized by non-trivial individual shapes with low-symmetry interactions between them. The motion of rods made of the camphene-camphor-polypropylene plastic is supported by dissipation of the surface-active molecules.

A paraffin droplet containing camphor and oil red O (dye) floating on the water surface shows spontaneous motion and deformation generated by the surface tension gradient around the droplet. We focused on the intermittent motion with a pronounced deformation into a crescent shape observed at specific concentrations of camphor and oil red O. We quantitatively analyzed the time changes in the droplet deformation and investigated the role of the oil red O by measuring the time-dependent paraffin-water interfacial tension with the pendant drop method.

Pre-licensure ethics nursing education does not adequately prepare and instill confidence in nurses to address ethical issues, and yet ethics education provides nurses with greater confidence to take moral action, which can mitigate the negative effects of moral distress. To assess the feasibility and acceptability of a nursing ethics education program that included simulated case-based ethics competencies as a form of evaluation.
