Noble-metal nanoframes are of great interest to many applications due to their unique open structures. Among various noble metals, Ru has never been made into nanoframes. In this study, we report for the first time an effective method based on seeded growth and chemical etching for the facile synthesis of Ru nanoframes with high purity.

The use of the extensor indicis proprius tendon as a vascularised tendon graft is described. It is supplied by the second dorsal metacarpal artery in a distally-based manner. We report two cases in which we used this tendon for flexor tendon reconstruction.

The average "conchal show" has been determined in a series of patients and a device is described to measure conchal show in prominent ears. By measuring the conchal show preoperatively, the surgeon can determine exactly how much to reduce the concha.

We report a patient with multiple inflammatory reactions to Dacron vascular grafts, simulating infection. A CT-scanning showed dense fibrous tissue surrounding the grafts, with a pseudotumoral aspect and liquification. Ultimately, the Dacron grafts were replaced with polytetrafluoroethylene grafts.

The authors describe the seldom forthcoming symptoms of a case of emphysematous cholecystitis with pneumobilia. They give an illustration of this particular form of acute cholecystitis, of which the evolution, if not treated adequate and immediate, leads to a high morbidity and mortality.
