Patient-specific cutting guides allow 1° precision in asymmetric anterior closing-wedge osteotomy.

Purpose: Asymmetric anterior closing-wedge high tibial osteotomy (ACWHTO) allows correction of both excessive posterior tibial slope (PTS) and varus deformity. However, the complexity of this surgery requires a high degree of accuracy, which is less likely to be achieved with standard instrumentations. This study aimed to determine the accuracy of 3D patient-specific cutting guides (PSCGs) to provide the accurate planned correction in the frontal and sagittal planes.

Non-Physician Healthcare Workers During COVID-19 Pandemic and Association Between Work-Related Factors, Perceived Stress, Depressive Symptoms, and Fatigue.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to examine the national impact of workplace factors during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic on mental health experienced by non-physician healthcare workers (HCWs).

Methods: This study consisted of an online sample of non-physician HCWs across the United States, including nurses, medical assistants, and physician assistants. The survey consisted of 93 questions, which included the Perceived Stress Scale, the Center for Epidemiological Studies-Depression (CESD-10) scale, questions about COVID-19 vaccination, sources of trusted information, and questions about work environment and training during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Asynchronous online training increased knowledge, confidence, and intent to screen and treat substance use disorders among primary care clinicians practicing in Texas.

Introduction: Despite increasing prevalence of substance use disorders (SUD), few patients are diagnosed and treated in primary care settings. This study evaluated changes in knowledge, confidence, and intention to implement screening and brief intervention (SBI) and SUD treatment after clinicians participated in an asynchronous online education course.

Methods: A self-selected sample of primary care clinicians in Texas participated in online SBI and SUD education March 2021-July 2023.

Young female athletes participating in sports requiring rapid changes of direction are at heightened risk of suffering traumatic knee injury, especially noncontact rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Clinical studies have revealed that geometric features of the tibiofemoral joint are associated with increased risk of suffering noncontact ACL injury. However, the relationship between three-dimensional (3D) tibiofemoral geometry and knee mechanics in young female athletes is not well understood.
