[Analysis of factors influencing quality of life in patients with olfaction disorders].

To explore the differences in quality of life among patients with olfaction disorders (OD) due to various etiologies and to identify factors influencing olfactory-related quality of life. This cross-sectional study enrolled patients with OD who visited the Department of Otolaryngology at Fudan University Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Hospital between February and June 2024. Psychophysical olfactory test was performed using the Chinese Smell Identification Test (CSIT), which was based on the Chinese population, with the TDI score used as the total score for threshold (T), discrimination (D), and identification (I) tests.

Molecular and cellular morphology of placenta unveils new mechanisms of reproductive immunology.

Introduction: Despite of numerous studies of the placenta, some molecular and cellular characteristics, particularly the relationship among different cell types, have not been well understood. We aim to investigate the basic and intricate details of cellular and molecular elements in early and late phase placentas to gain better understanding of the immune regulation of human reproductive process.

Methods: A novel combination of techniques of spatial transcriptomics(ST), multiple immunohistochemistry, and a dual labeling combining immunohistochemistry and (fluorescence in situ hybridization) FISH on normal and ectopic pregnancy and animal models was employed to investigate the placenta at tissue, cell, protein and molecular levels and to trace the fetal and maternal origin of every cell in early and late placentas.

Femtosecond laser-assisted large-diameter lamellar corneal-limbal keratoplasty in ocular chemical burns.

Purpose: This study highlights the feasibility of femtosecond laser-assisted large-diameter lamellar corneal-limbal keratoplasty and its efficacy in the treatment of ocular surface failure caused by bilateral ocular chemical injury.

Observations: The series included 3 patients with ocular surface failure caused by bilateral ocular chemical burns. After dissection of the host cornea, a femtosecond laser-assisted large-diameter lamellar corneoscleral button, with varying thickness of 250-400 μm, was sutured to the recipient bed.

Unraveling the interconnectedness between physician burnout and symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress: a network analysis among Chinese psychiatrists.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic significantly increased the levels of burnout and symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress among healthcare professionals. However, research on the interrelations between burnout and psychological symptoms is scarce, particularly among psychiatrists. This study addresses this gap in a national sample.

Threshold effects of sleep duration and cognitive function in older adults with BMI ≥ 25 kg/m.

Background: It has been demonstrated that older adults' cognitive capacities can be improved with sleep duration. However, the relationship between overweight, obesity, and cognitive decline remains a subject of debate. The impact of sleep duration on cognitive performance in seniors with a body mass index (BMI) ≥ 25 kg/m is largely unknown.
