Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the psychosocial impact of malocclusion and the motivation for seeking orthodontic treatment among adolescents.

Methods: A cross-sectional study included 102 adolescents (ages 11-18) whose malocclusion was rated using 3 occlusal indices: IOTN, DAI, and PAR. The participants answered three structured questionnaires selected to measure Oral Health Related Quality of Life (OHRQoL) through the short form of the Child Oral Health Impact Profile (COHIP), the patient's perceived impact related to orthodontics through the Psychosocial Impact of Dental Aesthetics Questionnaire (PIDAQ), and self-esteem through the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES).

Aim: Evaluate constitutional differences in chin morphology and volume, and mandibular tooth size, between different facial divergence patterns.

Materials And Methods: The sample consisted of 284 pretreatment cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images of growing and non-growing patients who were stratified into 4 groups based on mandibular plane inclination to cranial base (SN) angle. Linear and angular measurements were made on the lateral CBCT images: mandibular lateral incisor crown (I-C) total (I-A) lengths, the distances between point D (centre of symphysis) and both incisor apex (D-A) and menton (D-Me) and between cemento-enamel junction and menton (CEJ-Me); chin width at the level of the central incisor apex (CWA) and point D (CWD); and the angles of the anterior and posterior symphyseal slopes.

The superimposition of sequential radiographs of the head is commonly used to determine the amount and direction of orthodontic tooth movement. A harmless method includes the timely unlimited superimposition on the relatively stable palatal rugae, but the method is performed manually and, if automated, relies on the best fit of surfaces, not only rugal structures. In the first step, motion estimation requires segmenting and detecting the location of teeth and rugae at any time during the orthodontic intervention.
