This review focused on mass spectrometry imaging (MSI), a powerful tool in food analysis, covering its ion source schemes and procedures and their applications in food quality, safety, and nutrition to provide detailed insights into these aspects. The review presented a detailed introduction to both commonly used and emerging ionization sources, including nanoparticle laser desorption/ionization (NPs-LDI), air flow-assisted ionization (AFAI), desorption ionization with through-hole alumina membrane (DIUTHAME), plasma-assisted laser desorption ionization (PALDI), and low-temperature plasma (LTP). In the MSI process, particular emphasis was placed on quantitative MSI (QMSI) and super-resolution algorithms.

Biodegradable magnesium (Mg) implant generally provides temporary fracture fixation and facilitates bone regeneration. However, the exact effects of generated Mg ions (Mg), hydrogen gas (H), and hydroxide ions (OH) by Mg degradation on enhancing fracture healing are not fully understood. Here we investigate the degradation of Mg intramedullary nail (Mg-IMN), revealing the generation of these degradation products around the fracture site during early stages.

Methods: This retrospective study included 180 patients who underwent hysteroscopic resection for EP between January 2021 to December 2023. The patients were divided into a modeling group (n = 135) and a validation group (n = 45) in a 3:1 ratio.

Numerous studies have demonstrated that the high expression of CXC motif chemokine ligand 16 (CXCL16) in cancer correlates with poor prognosis, as well as tumor cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. While CXCL16 can serve as a tumor biomarker, the underlying mechanism in modulating head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) remains unclear. Quantum backflow (QB), a counterintuitive interference phenomenon where particles with positive momentum can propagate backward, is important in applications involving light-matter interactions. To date, experimental demonstrations of backflow have been restricted to classical optical systems using techniques such as slit scanning or Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensing, which suffer from low spatial resolution due to the inherent limitations in slit width and lenslet array density. Here, we report an observation of azimuthal backflow (AB) both theoretically and experimentally by employing the weak measurement technique, which enables the precise extraction of photon momentum at each pixel.
