Germ cell tumors (GCTs) commonly develop in the pineal and suprasellar regions, with the most common GCTs being germinomas. In this report, a 22-year-old male presented with progressive right-sided weakness, and his imaging was consistent with a left thalamic high-grade glioma. A stereotactic biopsy was performed, revealing a germinoma, but radiation therapy was not done, and the patient was lost to follow-up.

Graphene adsorbed on Ru(0001) has been widely used as a template for adsorbing and isolating molecules, assembling organic-molecule structures with desired geometric and electronic properties and even inducing chemical reactions that are challenging to achieve in the gas phase. To fully exploit the potential of this substrate, for example, by being able to tune a graphene-based catalyst to perform optimally under specific conditions, it is crucial to understand the factors and mechanisms governing the molecule-substrate interaction. To contribute to this effort, we have conducted a combined experimental and theoretical study of the adsorption of cyanomethyl radicals (-CHCN) on this substrate below room temperature by performing scanning tunneling microscopy experiments and density functional theory simulations.

Virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) represents a particularly relevant tool in agricultural species for studying gene functionality. This study presents a novel approach for utilizing viruses belonging to the 30K family of movement proteins (MPs) as VIGS vectors. The method described here employs smaller inserts (54 bp or less) than those commonly used (100-500 bp).

: The objective of this study was to provide real-world data on prognostic factors in children with severe eosinophilic asthma and to assess biomarkers of outcome. : Fifty-nine children (aged 6-17 years) were included in a prospective cohort attended in a Severe Asthma Unit of a tertiary care teaching hospital in Badalona (Barcelona, Spain) and visited at baseline and at 1-year follow-up. Study variables included asthma control using the Asthma Control Test (ACT), forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV), exacerbation episodes, fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO), and inflammatory biomarkers (blood tests, sputum cells, immunoallergic tests, and levels of cytokines and effector cells in blood and sputum).
