Primary infratentorial diffuse large b-cell lymphoma: a challenging diagnosis in an immunocompetent patient.

We describe the case of a female patient, 52 years old, with dizziness and left motor incoordination for 2 weeks. Brain MRI magnetic resonance imaging) revealed a hyperintense lesion on T2-weighted images, without restricted diffusion, in the left middle cerebellar peduncle. Spectroscopy demonstrated peak of lipids and perfusion did not show any elevation in relative cerebral blood volume (rCBV).

Liver transplantation in a patient with clinical manifestations of cryptogenic cirrhosis: a case report of hepar lobatum as a primary liver condition.

Background: This article reports a case of hepar lobatum, a peculiar and rare type of liver deformity, originally described in association with infectious or parasitic diseases and with malignancies.

Case Report: We have described a 42-year-old woman with this disorder, which was unrelated to the known conditions and referred for liver transplantation for having clinical manifestations of cirrhosis, portal hypertension, and impaired hepatic function.

Conclusions: The observed histologic pattern suggests that hepar lobatum could be, in some patients, the effect of a primary process of hamartomatous origin involving the organ vascular supply.

The value of the 2005 International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP) modified Gleason grading system as a predictor of biochemical recurrence after radical prostatectomy.

Purpose: To compare time and risk to biochemical recurrence (BR) after radical prostatectomy of two chronologically different groups of patients using the standard and the modified Gleason system (MGS).

Methods: Cohort 1 comprised biopsies of 197 patients graded according to the standard Gleason system (SGS) in the period 1997/2004, and cohort 2, 176 biopsies graded according to the modified system in the period 2005/2011. Time to BR was analyzed with the Kaplan-Meier product-limit analysis and prediction of shorter time to recurrence using univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazards model.
