Hospital and Patient Level Predictors for 90-d Readmission Following Burn Injury.

Introduction: Predictors and contributing factors for hospital readmission following burn injury are currently not well described. Previous studies evaluating readmission following burn injury have been limited to specific patient subpopulations or to a short-term period after injury, for example, 30 d. We describe predictors for all cause, 90-d hospital readmission following burn injury among the US adult population.

Single-cell technology grows up: Leveraging high-resolution omics approaches to understand neurodevelopmental disorders.

The identification of hundreds of neurodevelopmental disorder (NDD) genes in the last decade led to numerous genetic models for understanding NDD gene mutation consequences and delineating putative neurobiological mediators of disease. In parallel, single-cell and single-nucleus genomic technologies have been developed and implemented to create high-resolution atlases of cell composition, gene expression, and circuit connectivity in the brain. Here, we discuss the opportunities to leverage mutant models (or human tissue, where available) and genomics approaches to systematically define NDD etiology at cellular resolution.

Tailoring the Chicago Parent Program for Foster and Kinship Caregivers: a Mixed Methods Approach.

There is a lack of evidence-based programs to support the prevention of child behavior problems designed specifically for foster and kinship caregivers from historically minoritized groups. Drawing on existing best-practice recommendations for tailoring interventions to new cultural and social contexts, this study evaluates initial evidence of the acceptability and feasibility of adapting the Chicago Parent Program (CPP) for foster and kinship care. An expert panel of foster and kinship caregivers, clinicians, and other professionals with experience in CPP and child welfare arenas was convened to review and adapt CPP materials in collaboration with researchers.

Chromosomal and gonadal sex have differing effects on social motivation in mice.

Background: Sex differences in brain development are thought to lead to sex variation in social behavior. Sex differences are fundamentally driven by both gonadal hormones and sex chromosomes, yet little is known about the independent effects of each on social behavior. Further, mouse models of the genetic liability for the neurodevelopmental disorder MYT1L Syndrome have shown sex-specific deficits in social motivation.
