Increasing Colorectal Cancer Screening at an Urban FQHC Using iFOBT and Patient Navigation.

Introduction: Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Black Americans suffer even higher incidence and death rates than the general population. Genetics and patient perceptions explain some of this difference, however, modifiable health care system factors such as lack of access to colon cancer screening also contribute.

Outcomes of Clostridium difficile infection in recipients of solid abdominal organ transplants.

Knowledge of outcomes of Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) in solid organ transplant (SOT) recipients is limited. To evaluate this population, we undertook a retrospective cohort study of all recipients of kidney and liver transplants diagnosed with CDI at a single center over 14 yr. Data pertaining to all episodes of CDI were collected.

Implementing video conferencing in mental health practice.

The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the evidence base regarding the use of video conferencing (VC), implementation issues, policies, procedures, technical requirements and VC etiquette. The paper is based on a literature review of VC within the mental health sector and the authors' experience in implementing VC. Six themes emerged from the literature review: applications of VC, VC assessments, treatment, training and supervision, practitioner anxiety, and VC administrative processes.

The relationship between building design and escapes from secure units.

The research presented is a survey of all of the identified forensic psychiatry Medium Secure Units (MSUs) within Great Britain. The study examined the numbers and nature of all escapes from these units over a 42-month period. The research focused on the relationship between the building design of the units and the nature of patient escapes.
