Introduction: Adrenal venous sampling (AVS) is used to distinguish unilateral from bilateral aldosterone hypersecretion as a cause of primary aldosteronism (PA). Unilateral disease is treated with adrenalectomy and bilateral hypersecretion managed medically.
Methods: We performed a single institution retrospective cohort study of adult patients undergoing adrenalectomy for PA from July 2013 to June 2022.
Objective: In this study, we aimed to develop education to assist BRCA mutation carriers in making informed decisions about HRT in the context of risk-reducing surgery, while simultaneously clarifying their treatment-specific values and reducing decisional conflict.
Methods: We enrolled premenopausal BRCA mutation carriers ages 19-49 without prior cancer or risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy to structured interviews in which they reviewed education about the risks and benefits of HRT. Materials included literature-derived data demonstrating associations between HRT and commonly considered health outcomes (breast cancer, vasomotor symptoms, sexual functioning, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and blood clots).
Introduction: American Thyroid Association (ATA) Guidelines for Management of Thyroid Nodules and Thyroid Cancer indicate that thyroid lobectomy (TL) or total thyroidectomy (TT) are appropriate surgery for low- and intermediate-risk well-differentiated thyroid carcinoma. We sought to determine outcomes of TL or TT by ATA response to therapy (RTT) classification.
Methods: This is a single-institution retrospective cohort study of adults with unilateral suspicious or malignant thyroid nodules under 4 cm from January 2016 through December 2021.
Background: Numerous barriers to mental health utilization exist for families of children who present with serious emotional and behavioral challenges. Evidence-based practices that facilitate equitable outcomes across diverse populations are essential to identify. This study examined possible differential service outcomes in a Medicaid-funded, parent-to-parent intervention called Parent Support Partner (PSP).
