Background: In a cooperative multi-center interventional study of 60 probands with prehypertension and normal BMIs were followed for 3 months.

Design: The intervention included the DASH diet for 3 months in 30 probands plus sodium limited intake using the low sodium salt Kardisal® (60% NaCl, 40% KCl) (group A) and the DASH diet for 3 months in 30 probands without Kardisal® (group B).

Results: In group A (n=26 probands evaluated) the systolic blood pressure (median) decreased significantly from 138 to 129 mmHg (p<0.

The interaction of D(-) with H was studied experimentally and theoretically at low temperatures. The rate coefficients of associative detachment and electron transfer reactions were measured in the temperature range 10-160 K using a combination of a cryogenic 22-pole trap with a cold effusive beam of atomic hydrogen. Results from quantum-mechanical calculations are in good agreement with the experimental data.

Seven cases of cerebral oedema have been observed in enuretic children during low-dose desmopressin (DDAVP) treatment given in a dose of 7-21 microg daily in the Czech Republic between 1995 and 1999, after the drug started to be marketed for this indication and delivered in simple bottles with a dropper. All seven children (age 5-11 years, four boys) experienced a period of unconsciousness but all recovered without sequelae. In most cases, safety measures were underestimated and natraemia was not regularly controlled.
