Background: Working alongside patients and the public to shape and engage with research, Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE), facilitates more impactful research outcomes. The UK Standards for Public Involvement provides a framework for conducting PPIE; however, they do not refer directly to ethical conduct. Research ethics involve the moral principles that govern researchers' actions, and securing ethical approval from a research ethics committee is necessary before starting a study.

Gastroblastoma is a rare gastric biphasic tumor composed of mesenchymal and epithelial elements in variable proportions. These tumors usually arise in the gastric antrum of children and young adults and are reported to harbor a recurrent MALAT1::GLI1 fusion. Herein we report a case of gastroblastoma in a 19-year-old male who presented with intermittent epigastric abdominal discomfort.

Diagnosing, selecting therapy for, and monitoring cancer in patients using a minimally invasive blood test represents a significant advance in precision medicine. Wide variability exists in how circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) assays are developed, validated, and reported in the literature, which hinders clinical adoption and may negatively impact patient care. Standardization is needed for factors affecting ctDNA assay performance and reporting, including pre-analytical variables, analytical considerations, and elements of laboratory assay reporting.
