Introduction: Acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) injuries account for more than 40% of all sports-related shoulder injuries. Early and effective diagnosis is crucial with surgical intervention favored over non-operative management in high-grade injury. At present diagnosis is primarily by plain radiography with a clear lack of good clinical examination techniques.

Safety and efficacy of short-course intravenous antibiotics after complicated appendicitis in selected patients.

Background: After surgery for complicated appendicitis (CA), common practice is to treat all patients with a standardised long-course of intravenous antibiotics (IVAB) to reduce the risk of postoperative surgical infections (PSI). Introduction: The reported rate of subsequent surgery after intramedullary nailing (IMN) of tibial shaft fractures (TSFs) is as high as 21%. However, most studies have not included the removal of symptomatic implant in these rates. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the subsequent surgery rate after IMN of TSFs, including the removal of symptomatic implants.

Rapidly Growing Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma Presenting as an Irreducible Umbilical Hernia.

Hernia sacs are a common anatomic pathology specimen, which rarely contain malignancy. We present a case of rapidly growing pancreatic adenocarcinoma, which initially presented as metastasis to an umbilical hernia sac. The patient was a 55-year-old male with a two-year history of umbilical hernia.
