Intravenous Glutathione and Vitamin Supplementation Causing Stevens-Johnsons Syndrome: A Case Report.

Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis are severe mucocutaneous reactions with high morbidity and mortality, most commonly triggered by prescribed medications. Here, we report a case of a 33-year-old female who developed Stevens-Johnson/Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis after receiving an IV vitamin infusion containing glutathione, vitamin C, and vitamin D. While not commonly associated with the development of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome glutathione has been previously reported to have been the inciting agent in Stevens-Johnson Syndrome cases.

Aegilops tauschii is the donor of the D subgenome of hexaploid wheat and a valuable genetic resource for wheat improvement. Several reference-quality genome sequences have been reported for Ae. tauschii accession AL8/78.

Despite substantial research, however, the precise functions of these proteins remain largely unresolved. Schistosomes, parasites of the circulatory system, are no exception, with 29 SmVAL genes identified in the genome of Schistosoma mansoni to date.

Total Hip Arthroplasty Complications in Patients With Sickle Cell Disease: A Comparison Study.

Background: Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is one of the most common orthopaedic procedures performed in the United States, but there are rare complications which can be devastating. Sickle cell disease (SCD) can lead to avascular necrosis of the femoral head, often necessitating THA. This article seeks to better characterize the complication risks in patients undergoing THA with SCD when compared to osteoarthritis (OA) using a large database from the National Inpatient Sample.
