Background And Purpose: The gold standard when treating muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) is radical cystectomy (RC), a procedure that holds the potential to affect the function of several pelvic organs, causing an impact on the patient's Quality of Life (QoL). Knowledge of the late effects following bladder cancer and treatment with RC is sparse. The aim is to describe the incidence of late effects and to investigate the impact on QoL.

Background: This study aimed to compare the effects of a carbohydrate (CHO) hydrogel with (ALG-CP) or without (ALG-C) branched-chain amino acids, and a CHO-only non-hydrogel (CON), on cycling performance. The hydrogels, encapsulated in an alginate matrix, are designed to control CHO release, potentially optimising absorption, increasing substrate utilisation, and reducing gastrointestinal distress as well as carious lesions.

Methods: In a randomised, double-blinded, crossover trial, 10 trained male cyclists/triathletes completed three experimental days separated by ~6 days.

E-cigarette or vaping product use-associated lung injury (EVALI) is a potentially severe acute interstitial lung disease primarily observed in the United States, with sporadic cases reported in Europe. EVALI, though rare, could be susceptible to under-diagnosis due to limited awareness and diagnostic suspicion. We present a case of a 19-year-old male in Denmark diagnosed with severe EVALI.

The rate of input of new genetic mutations, and the rate at which that variation is reshuffled, are key evolutionary processes shaping genomic diversity. Importantly, these rates vary not just across populations and species, but also across individual genomes. Despite previous studies having demonstrated that failing to account for rate heterogeneity across the genome can bias the inference of both selective and neutral population genetic processes, mutation and recombination rate maps have to date only been generated for a relatively small number of organisms.

Background: The Danish clinical quality registries monitor and improve the quality of care, using quality indicators and defined development targets referred to as 'standards'. This study aims to investigate the fulfilment of standards in the Danish clinical quality registries in cancer care and screening.

Methods: Data was included from annual reports in the 27 Danish clinical quality registries in cancer care and screening.
