Background: Retroperitoneal sarcomas (RPSs) present a surgical challenge, with complex anatomic relationships to organs and vascular structures. This pilot study investigated the role of three-dimensional (3D) augmented reality (3DAR) compared with standard imaging in preoperative planning and resection strategies.
Methods: For the study, 13 patients who underwent surgical resection of their RPS were selected based on the location of their tumor (right, left, pelvis).
Misfolded protein aggregates may cause toxic proteinopathy, including autosomal dominant tubulointerstitial kidney disease due to uromodulin mutations (ADTKD-UMOD), a leading hereditary kidney disease. There are no targeted therapies. In our generated mouse model recapitulating human ADTKD-UMOD carrying a leading UMOD mutation, we show that autophagy/mitophagy and mitochondrial biogenesis are impaired, leading to cGAS-STING activation and tubular injury.

Here we identify an expression quantitative trait loci (QTLs) in the cis-acting regulatory region of the xanthine dehydrogenase, or xanthine oxidoreductase (Xor), a binding site for C/EBPβ, to be associated with diabetes-induced podocyte loss in DKD in male mice. We examine mouse inbred strains that are susceptible (DBA/2J) and resistant (C57BL/6J) to DKD, as well as a panel of recombinant inbred BXD mice, to map QTLs.

To date, the greatest benefit is seen in stage II-III HER2-enriched and triple negative breast cancers (TNBC). This study is the first audit of use of NACT in Australia and New Zealand to stratify data by BC biological subtype.

While there is no international consensus for QIs, audit against an external international benchmark is possible through use of QIs defined by the 2017 European Society of Breast Cancer Specialists (EUSOMA) Guidelines.
Methods: BQA data from 29,088 female patients between 1/1/2018 and 31/12/2019 were stratified by the EUSOMA definition of low-volume hospitals (LVH <150 patients p.
