Unlabelled: This review article focuses on von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease, a rare genetic disorder characterized by the development of tumors and cysts throughout the body. It discusses the following aspects of the disease.
Genetics: VHL disease is caused by mutations in the VHL tumor suppressor gene located on chromosome 3.
During the establishment of neuronal circuits, axons and dendrites grow and branch to establish specific synaptic connections. This complex process is highly regulated by positive and negative extracellular cues guiding the axons and dendrites. Our group was pioneer in describing that one of these signals are the extracellular purines.

We employed a Quadratic Unbounded Binary Optimization (QUBO) model, to search for compounds similar to Remdesivir, the first antiviral against SARS-CoV-2 approved for human use, using a quantum-inspired device. We modelled Remdesivir and compounds present in the DrugBank database as graphs, established the optimal parameters in our algorithm and resolved the Maximum Weighted Independent Set problem within the conflict graph generated.

In this research, we show that not only large cities with industry are prone to be polluted, but also young touristic cities with high population increase rate can suffer from urban contamination. We evaluated metal pollution in a natural protected area within a 50-year-old city without conventional industry that was likely contaminated by the urban sprawl around the protected area.
