Cephalopods play a central ecological role across all oceans and realms. However, under the current climate crisis, their physiology and behaviour are impacted, and we are beginning to comprehend the effects of environmental stressors at a molecular level. Here, we study the Hawaiian bobtail squid (), known for its specific binary symbiosis with the bioluminescent bacterium acquired post-hatching.

Here, we tackled the impacts of deoxygenation (7 mg O l), mild hypoxia (nocturnal 5 mg O l) and severe hypoxia (nocturnal 2 mg O l) on cuttlefish () development (hatching success, development time, mantle length), cognition (ability to learn individually and socially) and behaviour (ability to camouflage and to explore its surroundings spatially). We found that hypoxia yielded lower survival rates, smaller body sizes and inhibited predatory (increased latency to attack the prey) and anti-predator (camouflage) behaviours.

This study assessed the impact of low-level laser irradiation on the viability and proliferation of human periodontal ligament stem cells (hPDLSCs) cultivated on polylactic acid (PLA) scaffolds. hPDLSCs were obtained, characterized, and grown on the surface of PLA films produced via the solvent casting technique. The study involved two groups: the control group, which was not exposed to radiation, and the laser group, which was irradiated with a diode laser (InGaAIP) with a power of 30 mW, a wavelength of 660 nm, and a single dose of 1 J/cm² emitted continuously.

Methods: This cross-sectional study involved 42 eyes of participants (22 Controls and 20 POAG patients) that underwent optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A) to assess VD in the peripapillary region in three examination sets: primary gaze position (1), 25-degree adduction (2) and 25-degree adduction with OPD compression (3). Individual relationships between IOP levels and changes in the superficial complex VD were evaluated after image processing and exclusion of large retinal vessels.
To conduct a systematic review on the use of hypnosis in the treatment of orofacial pain. The search was performed on February 2021 and updated in July 2024 in the following databases: MEDLINE via PUBMED, Virtual Health Library (VHL), Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, Clinical Trials, ISRCTN Registry, Psycinfo, Open Grey, Google Scholar, and Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD). The descriptors referring to Orofacial Pain and hypnosis were used to select clinical trials on the use of hypnosis in the treatment of Orofacial Pain, in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian, without restriction on date and place of publication.
