Background: Lasofoxifene, a novel endocrine therapy (ET), showed antitumor activity versus fulvestrant in women with ESR1-mutated, metastatic breast cancer (mBC) that progressed on prior ET (phase 2, ELAINE 1 study). We investigated changes in genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) vulvar-vaginal symptoms with lasofoxifene and how patient/disease characteristics affect baseline vulvar-vaginal symptoms in ELAINE 1.
Methods: Women were randomized to oral lasofoxifene 5 mg/day or IM fulvestrant 500 mg (days 1, 15, and 29, then every 28 days) until disease progression/severe toxicity.
Background: Concomitant intake of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) may create drug-drug interactions, potentially impacting efficacy of anticancer agents. In the phase III PALLAS trial, the addition of palbociclib capsules to standard adjuvant endocrine therapy in patients with hormone receptor-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative early breast cancer did not improve invasive disease-free survival (iDFS). We explored whether concomitant use of PPIs affected survival outcomes in patients treated with palbociclib in PALLAS.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Since 2022, the Commission on Cancer (CoC) has developed three new breast cancer quality measures (QMs): time to surgery (BCSdx) and radiation (BCSRT) and the use of neoadjuvant therapy for triple negative and HER2/neu positive breast cancer (BneoCT). This study assesses CoC center historical performance for these measures and facility factors associated with low performance.
Methods: We examined the median number of days for time to surgery and radiation, and the proportion of facilities that achieved an estimated performance rate (EPR) of 70%, 80%, and 90% from 2004 to 2020 for all three measures.
