Background: Thymic epithelial tumors (TETs), including thymoma and thymic carcinoma, are rare thoracic tumors of the anterior mediastinum. For those with advanced disease, platinum-based chemotherapy is used as first-line treatment. However, there is no standard regimen established for TET at progression after initial therapy, and treatment options for advanced/recurrent TETs are limited.

A novel model-independent technique is used to compare the D^{+} and D^{-} phase-space distributions, with instrumental asymmetries subtracted using the D_{s}^{+}→K^{-}K^{+}π^{+} decay as a control channel.

This study examines the association of comorbid conditions and medication use for these conditions with survival among Black women with EOC.
Methods: In a prospective study of 592 Black women with EOC, the Charlson comorbidity index (CCI) based on self-reported data, three cardiometabolic comorbidities (type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia), and medication use for each cardiometabolic comorbidity were evaluated.
Background: The authors describe the case of a 35-year-old male who presented with back pain and painful masses on his upper extremities. He had a known sacral lesion identified 1 year prior at an outside facility, suspected to be coccidioidomycosis on biopsy, but the workup was not completed because the patient left against medical advice and was lost to follow-up. Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging revealed lytic destructive lesions involving the calvaria, thoracolumbar spine, and sacrum, concerning for an active and disseminated infection.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFGait initiation is a fundamental human task, requiring one or more anticipatory postural adjustments (APA) prior to stepping. Deviations in amplitude and timing of APAs exist in Parkinson's disease (PD), causing dysfunctional postural control which increases the risk of falls. The motor cortex and basal ganglia have been implicated in the regulation of postural control, however, their dynamics during gait initiation, relationship to APA metrics, and response to pharmacotherapy such as levodopa are unknown.
