Head-to-Head Comparison of the Performance of Highly Reactive and Polar F-Labeled Tetrazines.

Pretargeted imaging harnessing tetrazine ligation has gained increased interest over recent years. Targeting vectors with slow pharmacokinetics may be visualized using short-lived radionuclides, such as fluorine-18 (F) for positron emission tomography (PET), and result in improved target-to-background ratios compared to conventionally radiolabeled slowly accumulating vectors. We recently developed different radiochemical protocols enabling the direct radiofluorination of various tetrazine scaffolds, resulting in the development of various highly reactive and polar F-labeled tetrazines as lead candidates for pretargeted imaging.

Musculoskeletal disease in acromegaly - a population-based registry study.

Objective: Acromegaly is associated with multiple musculoskeletal complications that affect quality of life and work ability. We aimed to examine the risk of osteoarthritis, musculoskeletal surgery (incl. joint replacement), osteoporosis, fractures and analgesic consumption in Danish acromegaly patients.

Gut microbiome-driven regulation of sex hormone homeostasis: a potential neuroendocrine connection.

The gut microbiome is known to have a bidirectional relationship with sex hormone homeostasis; however, its role in mediating interactions between the primary regulatory axes of sex hormones and their productions is yet to be fully understood. We utilized both conventionally raised and gnotobiotic mouse models to investigate the regulatory role of the gut microbiome on the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis. Male and female conventionally raised mice underwent surgical modifications as follows: (1) hormonally intact controls; (2) gonadectomized males and females; (3) gonadectomized males and females supplemented with testosterone and estrogen, respectively.

Efficacy of Pomalidomide on Motor Performance and Functional Abilities in Patients with Steroid Refractory Chronic Graft versus Host Disease: A Randomized Clinical Study.

Background: Deficits in motor performance and functional abilities represent a severe complication for individuals with steroid refractory chronic graft versus host disease (cGVHD) and is associated with decreased survival and high morbidity.

Objective: Characterize the impact of pomalidomide on motor and functional outcomes in patients with cGVHD.

Study Design: Thirty-four adult patients with cGVHD were enrolled in a randomized and unblinded trial.

Clinical utility of a glycosylated fibronectin test (Lumella) for assessment of impending preeclampsia.

Objective: Preeclampsia is a major pregnancy complication that results in significant maternal and infant mortality and morbidity, yet difficulties remain in the diagnosis of preeclampsia based on clinical parameters alone. The objective was to assess the performance of a hand-held point-of-care (POC) immunoassay in a clinical environment for glycosylated fibronectin (GlyFn) for the prediction of preeclampsia within 4 weeks of sampling.

Methods: Multinational European prospective observational pilot study of predominantly high-risk patients in the second half of pregnancy to assess a point-of-care immunoassay for GlyFn in predicting preeclampsia within 4 weeks of sampling.
