Cuproptosis shows great prospects in cancer treatments. However, insufficient intracellular copper amount, low-level redox homeostasis, and hypoxic tumor microenvironment severely restrict cuproptosis efficacy. Herein, hydrazided hyaluronan-templated decorated CuO-doxorubicin (CuDT) nanodot clusters (NCs) are developed for efficient doxorubicin (DOX)-sensitized cuproptosis therapy in breast cancer via a three-pronged strategy.

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are a class of porous crystalline materials with high surface areas, tunable pore sizes, and customizable surface chemistry, making them ideal for selective metal ion separation. This review explores the nanoarchitectonics, mechanisms, and applications of COFs in metal ion separation. We highlight the diverse bonding types (e.

Background: Hypoxia-inducible factor-1-alpha (HIF-1α) has the potential to predict the neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) response in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). This study aimed to assess the relationship between the pathological response and intratumoral HIF-1α expression in patients with PDAC receiving NAC, and investigate the predictive value of contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) features in HIF-1α expression.

Methods: A total of 58 patients from three centers with pathologically confirmed PDAC who underwent NAC followed by surgery were retrospectively enrolled in this study.

Hydrogel electrolytes are crucial for solving the problems of random zinc dendrite growth, hydrogen evolution reactions, and uncontrollable passivation. However, their complex fabrication processes pose challenges to achieving large-scale production with excellent mechanical properties required to withstand multiple cycles of mechanical loads while maintaining high electrochemical performance needed for the new-generation flexible zinc-ion batteries. Herein, we present a superspreading-based strategy to produce robust hydrogel electrolytes consisting of polyvinyl alcohol, sodium alginate and sodium acetate.

Background: Cigarette smoking is posited as a potential factor in disrupting the balance of the human gut microbiota. However, existing studies with limited sample size have yielded inconclusive results.

Methods: Here, we assessed the association between cigarette smoking and gut microbial profile among Chinese males from four independent studies (N total = 3308).
