Visual Indicators Representing Avatars' Authenticity in Social Virtual Reality and Their Impacts on Perceived Trustworthiness.

Photorealistic avatars show great potential in social VR and VR collaboration. However, identity and privacy issues are threatening avatars' authenticity in social VR. In addition to the necessary authentication and protection, effective solutions are needed to convey avatars' authenticity status to users and thereby enhance the overall trustworthiness.

Experiences of inpatient eating disorder admissions: A systematic review and meta-synthesis.

Objective: There has been a significant increase in the number of inpatient admissions for individuals with eating disorders and, with the most critical cases requiring inpatient treatment, it is essential that we continue to improve associated outcomes. The aim of the study was to synthesise the available qualitative literature on the experiences of inpatient admissions for eating disorders to understand individuals' experiences and identify areas that may require further research and/or service development.

Method: Searches were performed on the following online databases: PsycINFO, PsycArticles, PsycTherapy MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL, ASSIA, Scopus and Proquest Open Access Theses.

Measuring Interpersonal Trust towards Virtual Humans with a Virtual Maze Paradigm.

Virtual humans, including virtual agents and avatars, play an increasingly important role as VR technology advances. For example, virtual humans are used as digital bodies of users in social VR or as interfaces for AI assistants in online financing. Interpersonal trust is an essential prerequisite in real-life interactions, as well as in the virtual world.

Emerging Imaging Techniques in Anatomy: For Teaching, Research and Clinical Practice.

Visualisation plays a key role in anatomy, where the depiction of gross anatomical structures is essential in understanding and conceptualising content during research and medical teaching. Technology has allowed us to utilise imaging techniques for the visualisation of anatomical features, pathology and correlating physiological functions in a non-invasive manner which is atypical to traditional forms of anatomical investigation. These imaging methods develop integration between anatomy and clinically oriented medical study as well as biomechanics.

Guidelines for the Revision and Use of Revised Psychological Tests: A Systematic Review Study.

Tests are updated and revised periodically in order to remain current, valid and reliable in a competitive psychological testing industry. Despite the prevalence of test revisions, especially in recent years, a number of authors have commented on the lack of comprehensive guidelines for test revision. Whilst some guideline documents from test associations have mentioned test revision, these guidelines tend to be focussed on test user responsibility, with limited guidance for practitioners embarking on a test revision project.
