Background: Despite the availability of pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy for treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), alternative approaches need to be explored due to the high likelihood of treatment resistance. Neuronavigated 20 Hz theta burst stimulation (TBS-20 Hz), targeting the bilateral dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) augmented with the right orbitofrontal cortex (ROFC), was tested for treating OCD comorbid with depression and anxiety disorders.
Methods: A retrospective chart review was performed on fourteen patients treated for moderate-to-severe OCD in a private outpatient clinic.
Persistent transcriptional events in ventral tegmental area (VTA) and other reward relevant brain regions contribute to enduring behavioral adaptations that characterize substance use disorder. Recent data from our laboratory indicate that aberrant accumulation of the newly discovered histone post-translational modification (PTM), H3 dopaminylation at glutamine 5 (H3Q5dop), contributes significantly to cocaine-seeking behavior following prolonged periods of abstinence. It remained unclear, however, whether this modification is important for relapse vulnerability in the context of other drugs of abuse, such as opioids.

Materials And Methods: Non-Veterans Health Administration (VA) practitioners reviewed 1,949 VA malpractice claims paid during fiscal years 1998 through 2003. The portion associated with substandard care, the severity of harm, and types of negligence were identified.
Objective: The objective of this study was to compare the relative effects of both antepartum and intrapartum maternal plasma glucose concentrations on neonatal plasma glucose levels.
Study Design: This was a prospective, nonrandomized study. Two hundred thirty-three pregnant insulin-requiring patients with diabetes received intensive diabetic treatment aimed at maintaining the 2-hour postprandial plasma glucose level < 150 mg/dl and the intrapartum plasma glucose level < 100 mg/dl.
Needs for interpersonal resources were compared in groups of Israeli and USA drug abusers and in matched groups of normal subjects. Across cultures, drug addicts displayed a similar pattern of needs, while the patterns displayed by normal subjects were dissimilar. The results suggest that drug addicts display patterns of need that deviate from the cultural norm and approach the patterns displayed by addicts in other cultures.
