Background: Sleep and circadian disruption are associated with increased dementia risk, yet the mechanism remains poorly understood. We examined the relationship between night/shift working in the fourth decade and late-life brain health. We explored whether significant relationships were mediated by life course factors including cardiovascular risk.

We describe characteristics of human A(H5N1) cases identified from March through October 2024 in the United States.
Methods: We analyzed data from persons with laboratory-confirmed A(H5N1) virus infection using a standardized case-report form linked to laboratory results from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention influenza A/H5 subtyping kit.
Objective: To determine which ear environment risk factors impact ossiculoplasty hearing outcomes and to generate a statistically-valid grading system for ossiculoplasty outcome reporting.
Study Type: Retrospective case series.
Methods: A multi-institutional database was generated from cases performed between 2011 and 2019.
Pulmonary embolism (PE) is the third most frequent cause of acute cardiovascular presentation after myocardial infarction and stroke. The treatment approach for PE consists of hemodynamic and respiratory support, anticoagulation, reperfusion treatment, and vena cava filters. Reperfusion treatment consists of systemic thrombolysis (recombinant tissue-type plasminogen activator, streptokinase, and urokinase); percutaneous catheter-directed therapy (CDT); and surgical embolectomy.

The success of messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine technology in the COVID-19 pandemic, marked by its rapid development and scalability, demonstrates its potential for addressing other infectious threats, such as HPAI A(H5N1). We therefore evaluated mRNA vaccine candidates targeting panzootic influenza A(H5) clade 2.
