[Anti-Jo1 antibodies syndrome in an HIV-infected patient].

An HIV-infected man developed primary polymyositis (fever, myalgia, elevated serum muscle enzymes, and signs of inflammation) associated with serum anti-Jo1 antibodies and pulmonary fibrosis. Anti-Jo1 antibodies are exceptional in HIV-infected patients. We discuss the role of infection in polymyositis.

CT diagnosis of ureteral fibroepithelial polyps.

We report a case of fibroepithelial polyp of the ureter with serial CT examinations. Progressive growth of the fibroepithelial polyp was documented by CT within a period of 62 months. Excretory phase contrast-enhanced CT images accurately contributed to the diagnosis of ureteral fibroepithelial polyp and allowed limited surgical resection.

[Imaging of primary carcinoid tumor of the pancreas].

Purpose: To describe the imaging features of primary carcinoid tumors of the pancreas. Materials and Methods. The sonographic and computed tomographic examinations of six patients with pathologically proven primary carcinoid tumor of the pancreas were retrospectively reviewed.

Carcinoid tumors are rare neuroendocrine neoplasms that belong to a more general category of tumor called the APUDomas. Ninety percent of carcinoid tumors are located in the gastrointestinal tract. Abdominal carcinoid tumors are categorized according to the division of the primitive gut from which they arise.
