Relationship Among Body Mass Index, Physical Activity, Sedentary Behavior, and Blood Pressure in Portuguese Children and Adolescents: A Cross-Sectional Study.

This study examined the associations between age, adiposity, physical activity, sedentary behavior, and elevated blood pressure (BP) in 2901 Portuguese children and adolescents aged 2-18. BP, body mass index (BMI), waist-to-height ratio (WHtR), physical activity, and sedentary behavior were measured. Elevated BP was defined as a BP above the 90th percentile for age, sex, and height.

Participatory research towards the control of snakebite envenoming and other illnesses in a riverine community of the Western Brazilian Amazon.

Background: Riverine communities face various health problems, which involve geographical and cultural barriers to accessing care, in addition to a lack of financial investments in services aimed at these communities, resulting in a process of invisibility for the population living in these regions. In this scenario, the significant burden of snakebite envenoming (SBE) highlights the need for participatory research to address ways to minimize this situation. Thus, this study aimed to describe the priority health problems identified by this population and the ranking of SBEs in that context, mapping solutions according to the local reality.

Introduction: Advances in imaging methods have led to an increasingly frequent diagnosis of adrenal gland lesions as incidental findings. Despite progress in this field, there is still limited information regarding the epidemiology of the clinical and metabolic profile of patients with adrenal incidentaloma (AI). The objective is analyze the epidemiology of adrenal tumors at Gaffrée e Guinle University Hospital (HUGG) and compare it with data from the literature.

Artificial intelligence as a transforming factor in motility disorders-automatic detection of motility patterns in high-resolution anorectal manometry.

High-resolution anorectal manometry (HR-ARM) is the gold standard for anorectal functional disorders' evaluation, despite being limited by its accessibility and complex data analysis. The London Protocol and Classification were developed to standardize anorectal motility patterns classification. This proof-of-concept study aims to develop and validate an artificial intelligence model for identification and differentiation of disorders of anal tone and contractility in HR-ARM.

Mortality Profile of Deaths Related to Infective Endocarditis in Brazil and Regions: A Population-Based Analysis of Death Records.

Background: Studies of infective endocarditis (IE) are generally limited to institutions, underlining the need for more comprehensive epidemiological research.

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the mortality profile of IE-related deaths and related causes in Brazil at the national level and across regions.

Method: We conducted a population-based study using data from the country's mortality information system for the period 2000 to 2019.
