Background And Purpose: PET/MR imaging is a relatively new hybrid technology that holds great promise for the evaluation of head and neck cancer. The aim of this study was to assess the performance of simultaneous PET/MR imaging versus MR imaging in the evaluation of posttreatment head and neck malignancies, as determined by its ability to predict locoregional recurrence or progression after imaging.
Materials And Methods: The electronic medical records of patients who had posttreatment PET/MR imaging studies were reviewed, and after applying the exclusion criteria, we retrospectively included 46 studies.
Chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH), a pathophysiological manifestation of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), is strongly correlated with obesity, as patients with the disease experience weight gain while exhibiting elevated plasma levels of leptin. This study was done to determine whether a relationship may exist between CIH and obesity, and body energy balance and leptin signaling during CIH. Sprague-Dawley rats were exposed to 96 days of CIH or normoxic control conditions, and were assessed for measures of body weight, food and water intake, and food conversion efficiency.

Background: The population of older adults in America is increasing rapidly, but many prelicensure nursing students do not understand the unique needs of these patients. Educational methods are needed that foster a mindset of research and inquiry to help older adults thrive.
Method: A three-pronged educational hybrid was designed to help students create meaningful links between geriatric nursing theory in the classroom and application in the clinical setting.
